I popped out for the last 90 minutes of light this evening as the sun was putting in a rare appearance. I spent most of that time following this pheasant whilst in the car and waiting for it to stop do its call and wing flap thing. I certainly was not in any rush! Fortunately it did make the call just before the last of the sun was about to disappear.

Great action, Rick. The head looks very sharp which makes this image work. Also, I like that the head follows the rule of thirds - it makes my okay with how close the tail feathers are the edge of the frame. The head looks slightly tilted toward the viewer, and the yellow eye really pops. Great work all around.
