I wasn't expecting this fellow to go to the air, thanks to advice previously from Al (to keep my shutter speed up, just in case!) I think I make a decent attempt at it.

This was later in the day and the light was just slightly off my left shoulder. PP in Aperture 3 and Nik Sharpener.

All C&C most welcome and appreciated!

Hi Mark, Very nice wing position and even lighting. Two things, The head is a bit soft(difficult to focus on) and the subject is going away from you. I like the water drops coming off the feet...

Hi Mark - I think it just needs a little more sharpening.
Selected the bird only - applied USM 154 .05 0
Maybe a tad much but you get the idea.

Mark, good BIF and Lance's repost is real nice. As Dave noted, wish she was heading your way- well done.

Very nice and beautiful. Love the water coming off the legs.

Love the flight pose of this one, the wing up with an open beak, and the water droplet trailing behind tell a story. As mentioned, the bird is flying away from you and bit more sharpening.

Not bad, would be great if he was turned more towards you. Like the extra sharpening on the head area.

Thanks everyone, agree on both counts. Lance, this really does the trick! I need to improve my sharpening with Nik or finally break-down and step up to PS.

I swear these things don't look at me on purpose!! :p

    Mark
