Default Biriding at ISO 12,800! keep or trash?

I was experimenting with high ISO setting, not expecting to have any keepers but just looking at how things would come out... sun had already set but there was just a bit of light bounding off the clouds and water. There were a pair of Ibis around which are not common in this area ( I am guessing escapees or navigation errors!) I had got some shots earlier so decided to crank up the ISO to 12800, of course lots of noise and DR is low, I processed the photo and it came to this, it looks a lot brighter than what it was actually like at 7PM, BTW would have been a blur or a silhouette if the ISO was lower :D

Hi Arash, To keep or not would depend on what other images I had in my files and how much image manipulation you are willing to do. I think there is potential in this and probably would keep with the following changes. First, I would replace the dark band at the top with the color just below it. Second, I would try and bring out a little more detail in the darker areas of the bird. Third increase the contrast a little and perhaps bump the saturation just a little. I have attached an example to illustrate what I mean. I am sure you could do a better job with the original file and more care and time than I put into it. It will be interesting to see what other have to say.

Hi Arash,Phil's repost did it for me. He did a nice job with the backround and brought out detail and color within the subject. Wish I could even think about kicking my ISO up that high!

Arash, since I just got the same camera, I am happy to see what it can do. I like Phil's repost-this would be a keeper for me.
