    Default Inca Tern

Hello everyone, my name is Jean Paul and I'm from Peru. I have been reading this forum for quite a while now, but this is the first time I have posted a photo here. This is an Inca Tern from Lima.

Hi jean Paul - a big warm welcome to the BPN Family - cool bird and one I have not seen before:)
Lots to like here - exposure looks pretty good, soft light has helped here - Like the HA and eye contact and catchlight in the eye.
Might crop some from the LHS - generally want more room in front of the bird than behind - might aso give it a bit more balance.
Not crazy about the perch - the combination of diagonal lines and bright whites does draw the attention away from your subject - but sometimes you just have to take what you are given.

Nice first post and looking forward to seeing more birds from your country :)

Hi Jean, a big welcome also! Lance seemed to cover all the areas. Last time I photographed this species was at the Bronx Zoo....

A very beautiful bird to have as a first post. Nice exposure on the bird. The details look good.

Hi Lance, David and Mark, thanks very much for your warm welcome and comments. I should have definitely cropped this photo as you suggested. I didn't like the perch very much too, the bird was on top of a sailboat. I was able to approach more a bit later on and managed to take some neat head shots (without the perch), but I wanted to show you the entire bird first. I will keep posting more Peruvian bird photos!

Beautiful bird - love to see one some day. Nicely exposed. Too bad about the perch. Welcome - hope to see more.
