A beautiful bird to photograph. From this small image it appears sharp, I would be interested in your choice of aperture. The background is such a unique color and outstanding, and do not know if it detracts from the bird or not, but it does catch the eye.

Great, great colours on the water, and I love the faint streaks of blue mixed in to those golden hues!!! I do wish the bird wasn't angling away from us, but you did get a wonderful view of the far underwing. The shade on the face (between the eye and base of bill) is less than ideal. Comp-wise room in front and a bit above would have been great for the image's dynamics.

    P.S. Welcome to BPN Chris!

Thx for the crits and comments, really appreciate it.

The golden colour was actually a reflection from an orange painted building the other side of the wetlands. It usually creates a reflection on the water which worked well with this shot.

Great background colours! Ditto Daniel on space in front & above. Like the pose, albeit that the bird is angling away from the camera.:)
