Another European Roller from my recent trip to Kruger. This time of the year they outnumber our local rollers, just before they head off back the northern hemisphere.

Chris, perfect clean shot. Beautiful bird...sharp, on simple perch, great light and sweeet BG. with the perfect head angle. Nothing to suggest here. just enjoying.

Looks like the light was comming from behind you and to the right. Provides just enough contrashading to give the subject some dimension ( in other words not a flat image). Well done.

Well done on getting a clear shot. Good pose and angle, and against a clean BG.

A lovely shot with everything as it needs to be.
I really like the relaxed look of the bird.

Thanks for the comments guys! Robert they should be on their way soon. There numbers usually peak around early April and by end April most are gone. Asad I find that their vary a lot here as well, some individuals are a lot brighter than others??

Lovely colours and BG, Chris. Even the HAP would approve:). Hope some hang around for another week or 2. Interested by your choice of ISO and SS as recorded - I would have probably pushed both higher.

Thanks for the comments Tony. My rule of thumb for stationary subjects in good light is 1/1000 in order to get a low ISO.
