Now that computer is back up and running, minus about 30 gigs of crap software...I had a few minutes to work on something.
I'd planned to used this when the theme was white on white, but couldn't find suitable image..
I got the idea to photograph birch bark with a snow background, but since spring has come about 4 weeks early, theres no snow to be found. So I used two birch bark images sandwiched together..
This image was converted to B & W (CS4), then sketched & framed using Fotosketcher

I am not sure about my monitor setup...let me know if you think its too dark or light

    Thanks for looking

I think this image makes a very nice Triptych. I like the bark. The black and white conversion looks good. I might start w/ an image that doesn't have a border around it and then add a drop shadow to each of the thirds. BUT I do love it as presented. Nice work Paul.:)

    Nice image and application, Paul.

    Better late than never. :D

I might have widened the inside "black" border lines to agree with the exterior lines, if it were mine. But ...

    Your image ... your vision.

Very interesting image, Paul. Has nice textures and tones. The triptych looks great. I agree with Denise on getting rid of the image border and adding a drop shadow to each third.

Really like the triptych treatment, Paul. And the BW. I'd prefer a black border for than the white. Glad you sorted you computer out:)

    Hi Paul,
Personally I would lose the borders althogether. I love the three images - think they work really well as a triptych - I particularly like the contrasts in the textures.

I'd lose the borders, too - maybe do a black mat instead. ??? Great visual texture in this - I love these peeling bark trees!

Great contrast here Paul. I love the triptych too. The drop shadows are fine, but I would lower the opacity of the shadow to 60-70%. What a great subject to do the b-w illustrative look on!

Paul, Nice drop shadows. I agree w/ Barbara's recommendation to lower their opacity.

Good PP work Paul. Like the textures and the B and W seems perfect for this subject.
