    Good light and color on the Heeron and I think your decision to darken the BG was a good one. It really makes the heron pop more! BTW, I jst started using the NIK SW and LOVE IT! Good use of it here.

    I like the dark BG too. Good frontal pose, although the head angle could have bee a bit better IMO. Is the heron a bit more saturated/magenta than it should? The is also a small smudge on top of the head, perhaps from a clone mark. Good use of flash, and the green water nicely offsets your subject.
