Taken in the Armonia Preserve near Perrereta Bolivia in January 2010. The country is beautiful, it has one of the most numerous species of birds of any country in South America.
Was having difficulty with my 400 DO, the roads in Bolivia were so rough that the gear bounced continually, the auto focus mechanism failed shortly after this image was taken.

Hey Monte, Great birds with a good EXP. I like the position of the three birds in the frame and I love the wing positions of the rear bird; the two birds in the front are too flat for me. :) And the merges hurt the image also.
What were you doing in Bolivia!

Was down there on a mission trip and had the opportunity to shoot some birds. The red front macaw is very rare only about 1,000 pair in the wild. Will post some more images.
Thanks Monte. I forgot to mention that you did a great job with the sharpness. And congrats on photographing such a rare species.

Monte, Very beautiful Macaws. I agree that the merges are hurting the image but I have never seen any birds like this in the wild. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to seeing more.
