Fractalius is the name of the software used to create these images, but I always want to say fractalicious :)

Anyway, I learned my lesson after my last posting, the one where the background behind the owl was very distracting. It cleaned up pretty nicely in Photoshop and so this time I went ahead and cleaned things up before posting. The base image is visible here, and the first attempt, complete with cluttered background, is here.

Without further ado, Fractalius Owl II:

Mike, Thanks for the links. I really like the Fractalius effect and the gradient BG. I might take a tiny bit off the right side and make it more of a true vertical. I think that if you had left the main tree branches that are golden in color and just eliminated the 3 upright branches on the right it would be nice also. Either way very nice work!:)

I think this is a great before and after image, shows what you can do with a little patience and PP skills, Mike.
I agree with Denise about the 3 golden branches....Early on in my BPN life someone told me this about an image I'd posted, "no one would believe this Owl would be that out in the open" and it stuck. Good work, never give up..

Thanks. Cropping is so obvious, I don't know why I didn't think of it! I think I was so happy w/my branch-clearing work in PS I didn't take a good look at the final product. Today it looked all lop-sided!

Anyway, thanks for the feedback, and here's the cropped version. Don't know when I'll get a chance to try any other variations, but appreciate the ideas.

You did a great job of cleaning up the original, Mike. The fracting really enhances the image, and I think the crop was a wise move:)
