    Nice one! I would try to crop some of the sky above the bird to see how it looks...

    The way I look at this one is from the cloud point of view, cloud being the dominant part of the image. Pelican coming at you is sort of plain but combine with the bg and you got an image.

    Might take a little from the bottom which should not alter feel but give better proportion and look !! This is the type image that will bring many different suggestions and there is not best way ... just personal preference !!!

    Hi Troy, Good points brought out by Al.IMO what strengthens the image is the cloud backround which has a tendancy to make the bird stand out. Lighting is good along with a diagonal wing position.

    Thank you guys. I prefer to crop a bit off the bottom than the top.

    Framing the bird against cloud is a great composition ideal. Accents the bird and gives the image a feeling of simplicity or floating in air - I like it as presented.

    Jeff, I like the blue sky and cloud. Most of the time, it is bird against plain blue sky, I like the cloud, making it more interesting.

    Defineley like your chosen compositon for your stated reasons. I like the diagonal position of the bird also

    Nice composition and the framing of your subject against the cloud. Do agree to crop from the bottom.
