Bob,
You have the composition down right here. Strong FG rock and incremental layering of colors and brightness in the BG gives great depth to this image.
I suggest for processing the following and shown in the repost.
1) Local Contrast Enhancement using USM on BG Copy in PSCS4 at 20/50/0 (see here for my tutorial on LCE: http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=20434)
2) Shadow/Highlight adjustment to open up shadows some.
3) Sharpening applied for JPG.
Hi Bob,Nice lighting with a foreground that is a bit dominant. Maybe it's a trick of the eye but to me the image seems to be weighted to the left due to the leading rock line and area of pink sky...
I like the idea of the foreground dominating the image, but leading the eye deeper to explore the layers beyond. This nicely captures the feel of these mountains under the conditions.
I'm prone to mess with mother nature, so I enhanced the light in the foreground a bit -- and sharpened.

Hi Bob,
I'm fine with the FG rock.....even though dominant as it has a ton of interest.....that both David and Robert brought out.....but I'm leaning towards David's....with the added lightening of the lt green layer.....really gives it a presence! Very nicely composed!
Thanks to all for the wonderful critique!
DaveT....Exactly how did you enhance the light in the fg?
Thanks again to everyone!!
I used curves and selective color adjustment layers. I put the psd file here so you can download it; that way, you can open the adjustment layers and see the settings.
