    I happened upon this guy a few days ago on Biolab Road at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. Rather than chance spooking the bird, I shot this from inside the car with a 40d and 100-400 lens.

    EXIF: Canon 40d, 100-400L IS @ 310mm, 1/2500 at f5.6, aperture priority @ +1/3 EV, partial metering, no flash.
    Post Processing: Slight increase in brightness & contrast, cropped a small amount off the top.

    Liked the light a lot here. Some noise reduction on the background will help a lot.

    Beautiful scene, and I love all the tiny ripples in the water and the gradiant from light at top to darker at bottom. I do wish for a better HA though. I'd have pointed the lens a tiny bit lower too. Overall good job!:)

    Very serene looking image with lovely lighting and excellent detail. I agree about the head turn. Many thanks for sharing.
