According to Adobe with even better noise handling.
Now I can make my old EOS 10D files look like being shot with a Nikon D3s :)

I just opened up an old ISO 6400 5DMKII file in LR3 Beta 2, made 2 virtual copies of the file ran it through dfine with its default profiled settings on one and then on the other file set the LR luminance noise reduction 70 and color noise 50, then I tried the same settings in LR 2.5

I was amazed by the result the LR 3 picture looks way cleaner than the LR 2.5 ones and also much cleaner than dfine which is impressive, of course this is no scientific test but it looks like they have a winner to me

The Lightroom 3 Beta 2 seems to be good. Noise control is better.

It also has the ability to import video files. There is no facility, yet, to create changes in the video files. May be Adobe would include that later. That would make the workflow much easier and better.

There are other changes as well. Hope they can give a facility to input crop size rather than trying to pull the crop tool and resize.

    Cheers,

you can input the crop size now ;) I think its been there since version 2, maybe even 1

once your in the crop tool, right beside the lock it says original, click that and then you can put in custom and put whatever you want :)

You can only use a value between 0.001 and 999.999 can be inserted. Not more than that.

Ah ok your trying to do pixels, I thought you wanted to do a layout size like 8x11, 5x7 etc

yeah I am not sure why they don't give the pixel option

For pixels, you could set custom crop to 10.24x7.68(or 19.2x10.8, etc) and take care of the rest on output(set max output size to 1024 px wide)

I cant wait for it, lightroom has been a real blessing to me. It massively increased my free time, especially with the add ons for upload to blog \ upload to smugmug etc.
