This image of a pair of Big Horn Sheep was taken a number of years ago, in Custer State Park, in the Black Hills of South Dakota. It was digitized from a slide image.

Modifications in PS4 included; Paint Daubs, Accent Edges, Poster Edge, Vibrance & Saturation and Hue & Saturation adjustments.

    Enjoy!

Mark, Nice looking effect. I like the composition as it looks cropped not clipped. The black shadow at the bottom stands out and grabs my attention. I might clone over it if it were mine.:)These are beautiful animals and lots of fun to photograph.TFS.

Neat image Mark. I find myself hunting for the head of the animal in the FG - it seems to be getting lost in the hide of the other one. I think if you could bring a little more detail into his face that would separate it from the hide of the other animal a bit better.

You use poster edges with the other effects to great advantage, Mark. Like the colors too:)

Thanks all for viewing and comments. Appreciate it.

I have attached a revised image with some work on the ewe to make her stand out a little better... Hopefully

I looked at the original and the dark area but feel it would not be as easy to work that area, as it is the shadow of the animal. Therefore, while I appreciate your comment Denise, I think I will let that area alone.

Al, appreciate your comment and wish I could enlarge it, but it is another one of the poor scans that I had done years ago. I will have to have it rescanned someday when I find a quality service or if I learn how to use my scanner properly.

It is one of my favorite images, as finding them that day was a surprise. I didn't know they were in the Black Hills and to be within about 20 feet of them to take the photo was awesome. Didn't have to crop this image, as it was a camera crop. Couldn't get more in! Too close!

Good job on the repost Mark, there is more separation between the animals.

Very nice Mark. I really like the colors and textures! I think the re-work really made the image stronger.
