It is a slow time here, but this morning I managed to get a couple fairly decent images of a Canada goose pair. I cropped out a sub-par reflection of this one. Did I crop the image a little too tight? Other adjustments were few . . . the whites and blacks looked OK on my histogram. I welcome all C&C!!!

Wendell, I think you did OK on the crop, it looks like you are within the ROT. I see detail in the blacks and whites, but some noise in the BG. It looks like the contrast in this bird would make this a challenge. These birds are so common, you tend to overlook them, but I'm thinking that these guys would be good practice!

Hi Wendell They are good looking birds and photograph at every chance I get !!

Main problem is the light angle, back of neck looks great but front a little dark .. even light is the key !!! Would have given the same exposure ! Whites around the head seem right at the edge, difficult to obtain any detail in other than ideal light !!! ... btw crop wise looks fine !!

Hi wendell- agree with AL - Really need soft light for the best results here.
    Composition looks good - IMHO.

Agree with comments above. You had -2/3 EV to protect whites, good thinking (are camera highlighs on). Maybe softer light like Lance said - TFS and keep up the good work!
