    went through some files from last year and found this one. Only smoothed out part of the bg that was and out of focus deck railing.

    D300, Bigma at 500mm, f/9, 1/1600s, ISO 500, manual exposure.

    thanks for looking. comments and critiques much appreciated.

    Hi Mr H - one of my favorite things - OOF foreground elements that frame a image.
    Lots to like here - Like the BG colours and just enough OOF foreground elements. Like the fluffy feel. Good HA and eye contact.
    A little too much negative space on the RHS for my tastes.:)

    Beautiful bird, I remember him well. Great EXP and low angle. I'm OK with proportions, so if you want to take away from right, I'd take also from bottom.
    Just like Lance, I love OOF in the foreground, as long as it doesn't distract.

    Maybe have him about 1/4 of the frame - tad bit tighter IMO - unique composition very creative.

    As above, the oof fg, bg and bird look very great. I like the compostion but agree with Lance about removing some from the rhs.
