    Default Snowcap Hummingbird

The Snowcap is a brilliant little hummingbird that I photographed in Costa Rica this past January. I was able to sit on the ground pretty much at his level while he paused from his feeding in a flowering bush. He was always on the alert for the more aggressive Rufous-tailed Hummingbird.

Critiques, comments and instruction very welcome.

A beautiful capture. You did a great job with the exposure. The whites in the cap are great. Beautiful iridescence in the plumage. Very nice image.

Nancy, the Snowcap is not easy to photograph! As you mention, they get chased by the bigger hummingirds, so they usually are hard to find perched. Great work and excellent exposure here.
