    These guys arent very large, and he was a fair distance from my car. I have a few positions at which I captured him, so I am sharing this one with you. Taken in a nature reserve close to my house.

    Canon 50D
    100-400 @ 400mm
    1/500
    F/6.3
    ISO 400

    Exp Comp +0.67
    Hand Held from the car.

    Stuart, lovely bird. Liked the catchlight. About comp, I think your intention is to balance the frame by including that part of the perch...but IMO that is making the bird a little too small in the frame. personal taste I'd say. Most will probably like it this way.

    Very beautiful pose Stuart, light is nice too, Agree it's just a bit small in the frame I would crop tighter to show feather details, maybe crop a bit from bottom and left. Very well done!

    For me the crop works very well. I like the perch and the eye contact with the bird.

    HH From car@ 1/500, what a shot. Exposure techs are solid and nice feather detail - steady hand there my friend.

    Have never seen this falcon before. Such a lovely bird and shot Stu. Love the puffed up feathers, pose, detail and angle of the shot.:)
