    Default Lesser Scaup drake

Completely focussed on ducks right now. They'll be flying off soon. 40D. 400f5.6 at f/6.3. iso 400. 1/1000s. Could have stopped down further to get the full duck in DOF range. But I wasn't sure how blurred the BG will be as I was not real low.....and as there were a lot of ripples, I wanted a good blur.

    All critiques welcome and appreciated.

    Kaustubh:

Well exposed with nice detail in whites and most of the blacks. Nice head position, eye contact and sharpness.

BG and composition work for me.

    Cheers

Hi Kaustubh, good low angle, and well done on the exposure. I like the sheen on the head, and the eye stands out nicely. Well captured.

A great shot of this duck. I like the low angle, the perfect exposure and the head angle.
The yellow eye goes very well with the blue water.

I like the light, head angle, low angle and eye contact. I might try to get more details in the blacks and sharpen a bit more, particularly the body.

Thx. everyone. I dont get bored of shooting these guys. I guess its also because soon they'll be leaving for their breeding grounds. The eye of this duck really makes a big difference in the photo.
