Hi All :) Have just come back from Thailand and saw some amazing things. I love this photo and would love some c/c on it.
Photo info:
Canon 500D, f 5.6, 1/500, iso 200.
Have sharpened a little and curves in photoshop.
Nice sharpness and colors. The cattle really pops out. BG is busy with too many highlights, imho. OOF green leaf in front of the cow is distracting. Would love to see more from your trip.

Hi Jane, Good view of the subject! Whats hurting the image is the highs and lows of light throughout the image. They become distracting and take away from your center of interest.I would also crop off the left up just past the large leaf....
Nice picture but as noted bright spots and busy BG pull on the eye. I like the habitat shots, can you clean it up a bit and repost, I like the theme of the image.
Hi Jane - hope you had a great trip - looking forward to seeing more of your images.
Pretty much agree with the comments above- really hard when you are traveling as often not the best light etc when you are out and about.
The main highlight the draws my attention is the white spike that stabs mr cow in the nose :)
Keep em coming
Absoloutely understand what your all saying :) The cow was actually quite far away so incredibly hard to get a clear shot. Will definately put up some more photos :) Thanks!
I've spent my career working with cattle (not this kind), but have to ask what the contraption on the muzzle is??? The previous comments are spot on, in fact my eyes keep getting drawn to that curled, rusty leaf on the left. A left 1/3 crop would help alot. The animal really does seem to project out of the image...very neat effect!
Ken I'm not too sure what the contraption is, but I believe the ring is through the nose somehow :( It was quite common to see the cattle tethered to a tree by their nose.
I'll have a look at cropping and see what I can do. Thanks!
Hi Jane Just needed softer light !! !! ... btw that ring does look like its going right through the nose .... probably through a hole that was not original cow equipment !!! Looking forward to more !!!
