    The tide was way out yesterday--and the sun came out briefly. My first capture of one of these in a long time. Arness Park Kingston, Wa.
    1D MKIII 300/2.8 IS + 2X TC
    1/1600s f/10.0 at 600.0mm iso640

    ... and a very nice one Bonnie !!! love he look back and pose Very sharp all the way to the tip of the beak Sure like the water has a good feel A slightly better sun angle would have lit the back of the head and a little leg separation would further enhance the image !!! Like it a lot !!!!

    Good job, Bonnie. You must have been crawling on the sand to get such a low angle capture.
