    This eagle was with another on shore near St. Andrews, New Brunswick, today. The other bird had captured and killed a gull. I would like to have been closer for the image but the animal did not allow it.

    40D, 100-400mm @ 365mm, 1/500s, F8. 25% crop.

    Hi John Nice pose Light is coming from hard left creating the shadow Tough to correct in PS Would work on the head area lighten some Your exposure was good Only see the one hot area around the legs As presented would crop some from bottom !!!

    I like the pose and eye contact. Too bad about the light angle. You could try to apply S/H but this only helps so much. Maybe a bit more sharpening, too.

    Thanks for your comments. I'm learning all the time!

    At F8 the DoF on this lens at longer focal lengths is pretty narrow- hence both wings being out of focus. What grabbed my attention when looking through the shoot was the right wing shadow on the left wing, and the head in shadow but also in focus!
