I love silhouettes, especially on a light trail :) I stopped down a lot to get texture in the water. I know there's a big spike in the red channel, but that's what the image is about IMO.

Very good Fabs, Really catches that early morning feel. I might clone out the poles and the angular lump ohm the horizon to keep the image as simple and symmetrical as possible

Great shot with fantastic colors. The heron is exactly at the right place. I agree with Tony on cloning out the poles.

    Like it a lot.

Agree with cloning out the tall stuff in the BG and I might have cropped the bottom a bit to where the major part of the birds shadow trails off?

Fabs, that is gorgeous! The entire scene really conjures up memories of warm Florida sunsets. I think I might have erred and cropped the bird in closer, but I really like how you included the entire trail of golden light in the water.

Love it as is and wouldn't change a thing. I love how the sun , bird and reflection all line up.

Only you know how Fabs. Lovely setting, and just being at the right place at the right time. Well captured.

Fabs, I am a big fan of these sort of images. The shadow is really cool. Very interesting and unique comp. I like how there is a sorta closure to the light trail at the bottom edge. The eyes stay in the image.

In such images, how to prevent the red from creeping into the bird? I have that in a few of my images as well.

It depends how intense the light is behind the silhouette. I guess underexposing more may correct the blending but at a steep price because you loose the color.

    Thanks everyone.

Thx for quick reply. You are right. I have tried underexposing but the color punch gets lost.
