Spurred on by a workshop a friend attended I went downtown last evening and took 9 shots - each a stop apart of a scene.
1. I tossed 3 of them as they seemed too dark or light.
2. I used Photomatix Pro, letting it convert the raw files instead of NX2 which I use all the rest of the time to convert.
Any suggestions would be appreciated - except cutting down the bushes :). Any tutorial beyond the basics shown here??
Here is what I ended up with. D3X with 28-105 iso 100

Hi Alan,
Can't help with the HDR....as I don't do them yet. I'm actually OK with the LH bushes.....but cutting down the RH tree I'd be fine with:)
HDR work looks pretty good to me....no real noticable halos.....which I understand are always a challenge. I hope others can chime in to help with the HDR questions.....
Hi Alan, Pleasing colors and good use of HDR by bringing out all the details. For my taste I would crop the left side just past the building peak on the left.I also find the bush on the right intrusive to the image.
