    Default American Gothic?

    D90; 80-400 VR @ 370mm. ISO 320. f/7.1 @ 1/2500s. Matrix metering @ -1.0 EV. HH. ~40% crop. (image 60% of original width).

I don't know why this Northern Pintail pair reminds me of the Grant Wood painting - maybe it's the pitchfork-like tail, or the dutiful spouse (I know, it was his sister in the painting). Captured at Brigantine last week, at some distance and less than ideal lighting. C&C welcome.

Hi Bill, I like the fact that you captured a pair on the same plane with very nice lighting. The exposure looks well handled also. If this were mine I would crop the image from the top down to a little above the central stick thats coming out of the mud...

Very nice, Bill. I like the lighting, ripples in the water and reflections. I agree with Daves comment of a crop down.

Thanks Dave and Peter. I guess I was afraid to go to an extreme pano; but I agree this is better. Got rid of the stick while I was at it.

Hi Bill - repost is better - might add a tad more sharpening to the birds only.
    Looking forward to seeing more.
