Handheld, 40D, AV mode, Bigma @ 500mm, iso 1250, f/7.1, 1/3200, ev+ .33. RAW via CS3, some cropping, sharpening, eye brightening and noise reduction in Photoshop. I shot this when I was working the flok of white Ibis. Wasn't really set-up for in-flight shots (usually would go manual exposure), but took a couple of shots anyway. A definately see some noise in the shadows but don't find it distasteful in this instance. I used a tight crop on the RH side to place the bird on the "Golden Section" intersect... too tight?

Reason: Added keyline... forum BG and image BG too close to same.
Hi Bob,You seem to have captured the exposure well.Is the noise due to a high iso or a large crop? IMO there is too much neg space within the image and would have placed the bird farther away from the rt. edge....
Hi Bob. I agree with Dave - some more room to the right would help eliminate some negative space. Has to look of a tight crop, and not the ideal wing position.
Hi Bob - is this a large crop??-IQ seems to be suffering a little - maybe from the High ISO??? 40d @ 1250ISO is going to introduce al little noise - just seems a little soft on my screen.
As mentioned wing angle is not ideal.
Keep em coming :)
