    Question AF sensors

    Hi every one

Trying to understand the AF system on the Canon 7D. 1. Do the AF points in the viewfinder represent all of the AF sensors in the camera. 2. Are some of the sensors f 5.6 & some f 2.8 (I think the f 5.6 sensors are for fast tracking while the f 2.8 sensors are for focusing precision) 3. If my assumption is correct, which AF point or points are the f 2.8 sensors. Your help is appreciated. Thanks Dan

You may find the following white paper helpful
    http://www.usa.canon.com/dlc/control...articleID=3049

All 19 AF sensors are standard precision cross-type AF sensors for up to f5.6 lenses

The centre AF sensor also has a separate pair of diagonal high-precision line sensors for greater AF precision with lenses f2.8 or faster
