I took this photo of one of the span structure of the Sunshine Skyway bridge a couple of weeks ago. I applied NIK Color Efex bi-color filter to dramatize the sky. I used Noiseware Pro for noise reduction.

Jim, wow! What great color! Don't you LOVE the bi-colored filters? Only suggestion I have for this one is to straighten out the main vertical post. One of the easiest ways to do that is to open it in camera raw and drag the horizontal tool from top to bottom straight down one of the sides of the beam. I'd be framing this one and finding a place to hang it. It's beautiful!

Thanks Julie. The bi-color filter works for this one.

I like the centered composition, Might crop some off the top and then maybe the bi-colour. Like the idea of more of a pano, but just my opinion. Cool looking bridge.

I had a 500mm lens and did not get the cable connections on the bridge span. That is why I chose to crop the cables on each side for balance. A pano of the complete cable span would have been better.

Re-post with the bridge support beam straightened. The slope of the bridge is now evident. Cropped some off of the top and then applied bi-color as Jackie suggested.Name: skyway-bridge-IMG_1735.jpg

Love the graphic quality of the image. The image that I am currently seeing in Pane 1 appears to need some CCW rotation at least when you look at the bottom of the main vertical element. Et vous?

Tried to take care of that in the re-post thus the slope of the grade of that portion of the bridge. Re-post was rotated 3 degrees ccw.

James, Take a look at this thread. David Thomasson who is IMO a photoshop expert has straightened the look of this old church w/ photoshop. I have used this technique for crooked windows etc. You will need to read all the way down. Hope this helps.

Hi James, When I brought this image into Photoshop to properly rotate it I realized what the problem is and why everyone thinks that it is cock-eyed. (It is BTW :))

Everyone is thinking that the roadbed should be level. This would be correct if the vertical stanchion were in the middle of the bridge.... But the bridge has two stanchions. Assuming that this is a sunrise image, you have photographed the northern half of the span, the span that heads down to St. Pete. For the repost I leveled the stanchion :)

Thanks for taking the time to further evaluate the image. Your comments help me to improve. You are absolutely correct about the bridge stanchion and slope of the roadway.

YAW. It was really bugging me and the answer did not hit me until I worked with the Ruler Tool and Rotate/Arbitrary a bit...
