Last summer, I was lucky enough to find a polyphemus moth and get some nice closeups of it's wings. I used a butterscotch action from CoffeShop to give the image some extra pop. I then added a vignette as well as toned down and darkened the URC a bit.

Christopher the comp really makes this image IMO. The way the two "eyes" lead down to the "nose" and then the bend where the mouth would be...so nice! Only thing I can see that might improve this is to take the green to a brown color in the URC. That green really looks out of place with the butterscotch. Really nice detail on this. I wish I could find one of these in the wild!

Exactly what I was going to say!! Take the green and get a nice complementing brown texture in there. Seems to take the attention away from the main photo IMO Chris.

Thanks Jules and Jackie. I did as you suggested and replaced the green with brown. Let me know what you think.

Personally I would make it solid brown with just a hint of texture in it. Just my personal taste though.

Same here...darken it almost to the same color as the edging at the bottom. I think that would solidify all the way around.

The repost looks great, Christopher. I like Jackie's suggestion of texturising and darkening the adjusted part. Such and interesting capture:)

    Nice image and composition, Christopher.

I agree with the URC, but might have cloned the lighter color of the wing up there. But ...
