Shot this last week with James Shadle. James is a great guy and really knows the local habitat. He is also there to answer any technical questions one might have which would help improve one's ability to get the shots. Glad I had the opportunity to go out with him.

Great timing on the shot. Very appealing with the wings in the up position. Exposure looks decent on a difficult subject. Plenty of detail in the whites, though the blacks look like they may be blocked-up a little. The head, eye, body of the subject looks a little soft to me. It appears that focus locked on the rear wing tip. A little additional sharpening on the eye might help. Overall a nice shot.
Hopefully he had fixed the steering cable by the time you went out. It broke when I was with him on the 5th. I like the sun on the bird and your position to it. I didn't get as good of a position as you did. They are usually flying away instead of this approach.
Great flight shot. I think the focus is actually on the head area, but looks like the rear wing because of maybe overshapening. Think I see a halo. Beautiful BG and love the wing span. Lucky you to get out on the boat Dave.
