Eaglet didn't want to eat too much, no matter how much Mom pushed. He didn't make it more than two days after this pic was taken :(

Sweet golden light here. I really like the left and bottom framing of this, Fabs. Eaglet seems singularly uninterested in the meal. f8 gives a nice DOF for both birds. Would wish for a little less of the stick in front of the eagle's white neck feathers. This might be a good candidate for a 1DM4 video clip! Or not.

There's one in the video forum. I was doing video until I saw the coot coming up, rapidly switched back to image mode, took the whole series and went back to movie. I need some free time (yeah right) to watch a few iMovie tutorials. I hate the big branches but too much to remove.
    Thanks!

Light, interaction and sharpness look great. Makes you wonder what the problem with the little one was, disease or poisoning maybe?

    Fab,

Beautiful shot, I love it! This seems to be have been the chicks last meal before it left us for good. I still see the 2 adults hanging around around but they look sad!

It was pleasure having you two visit us!

Love the light and the overall image exposure /sharpness and subject.

I'm not sure I'd want to eat that either!

It is sad that the little one didn't make it. All in Mother Natures plan I guess Fabs.

Breaks my heart to read this. But a beautiful image, Fabs, and a nice tribute to the parent who really tried her best.

Hi Fabs, sweet light and warm colours. I like the head on angle on the feeding moment, and sad to hear about the chick.

She had been nibbling on it and trying to feed chick. This is the bottom half that she swallowed
    I was impressed.

    Thanks all!

Beautiful shot with a great light and wonderful colors. The piece of food is quite impressive.
Sad to hear that the juvenile died. Was there a 2nd chick that maybe is still alive?
