Shot this very early at Little Estero last week. These guys are so fast and most of the time there catch is hardly discernable. Got a bit lucky.

Neat catch. Sure would suck to be the crustean. ;) The image looks a little dark on this monitor.

Hi dave...nice catch by both you and the bird. The bird looks a bit dark or contrasty to me as well...could be the light.

    Hi Dave
Nice composition and love the action. The image is pretty dark on my monitor as well. I checked the histograms in PS and noticed that the red channel was off the scale to the right. I think this is a non-breeding Black-bellied Plover  where the plumage would run to the gray/brown side. Perhaps the red saturation is from trying to replicate the glow of the sunset?
    Cheers

Hi Dave The behavior goes unnoticed most of the time, those crabs are tiny .... and as you say they eat them like potato chips :)

Hi Gail, Actually it was very early light and looks exactly like that represented. That light definately has a reddish element to it....
