A couple of layers of different fracts topped with a paint daub layer. Bit of dodging and burning, etc

Kora, The colors and the preening pose are fantastic. I love the effects applied. Great looking work. I might sharpen up the eye a bit to put this over the top.

In addition to the eye I may tone down the bright BG on the left. Nice overall effect with this one.

Agree on sharpening the eye - that's the first thing I noticed. I love the duck's position in the frame and the colors are nicely saturated without being "too much." Lovely image!

Many thanks for your valuable comments, denise, Nick and Jules. I've sharpened the eye and darkened the LHS as suggested. And I do think it has improved.:)

Beautiful colors, Kora. Brilliant, but not overly saturated. I like the preening pose, and the repost looks great.

Nice work on the repost Kora. Good image to begin with, but the suggestions were excellent and you improved it with the changes! Really like the colors and composition. I am a big fan of preening shots!

Kora, a beautiful repost. I love the colors and fract layers you achieved. I might crop tighter on the right side
but I love it the way it is:)
