Last evening of our workshop, we played with the Gulls a bit, these were baited with some plain bread. All it takes is a bite, and they really go for it. Cropped a bit from left and bottom, processed with Nik Color Efex Complete filters: Sunshine, Tonal Contrast and Brilliance/Warmth. Two half individuals evicted form the right.

Not a big fan of blurs (I often have to strain too much to figure out what I am looking at!) - or gulls- but, obviously, when done superbly, as here, I must scratch my head and rethink! Beautiful job, Fabs. The birds are great, in various blurs, with different birds, in different positions, and I like the crop. I really like the look of the water as well. The only criticism - not my image! :)

    Fabs:

Nice choice on the shutter speed, enough blur to strengthen the sense of action/frenzy, but enough detail to hold my interest. I like the group of four gulls on the horizontal midline that almost looks like a multiple exposure of one gull, time lapse style.

    Neat.

What I like best about this is the careful framing with no birds cut off by the frame edges.

Neat shot Fabs. I really like the color tone. Also interesting to study the different shapes and level of detail in the birds (ex, no wings on the one in upper right, no head on the one in upper left).

Almost missed this one. really good creative OOTB work here Fabs. the right way to capture the scene. Its like best of photography and video shooting worlds. Appropriate SS used. you can see the frenzy and yet see the definition of the gulls. Water not too disturbed. perfect execution of the vision.
