Obviously Mike and I have been out on the sage grouse leks. Here's a flight shot I caught with the 7D. Was lucky to get the Absaroka Mountains in the BG. Bird was going slightly away but I still like it.

    Camera Model: Canon EOS 7D
    Shutter speed: 1/2500 sec
    Aperture: 5.6
    Flash: Off
    ISO: 800
    Focal length: 300mm

You guys are killing me :p
Agree on your self assessment of the point past, but it's hard to pass with the nice BG and dorsal view. I may go back a bit on the sharpening.
    That's one good looking tail.

I noticed that myself. Just used my standard SS 200 .1 0. Only seems noticable on the tail feathers??

In fact, I see it more in the dorsal and lower part of face.

nice wing position and BG, light is great too, wish the bird was flying towards you, agree with Fabs that it is over sharpened. TFS

How's this Fabs? Reprocessed with very minimal amount of smart sharpen in CS4

Smokin shot, the mountains really put this over the top for me. I prefer the sharpening of your original post.

Your OP with a tad less sharpening on the tail will work. I like the flying posture, and against a cool BG.
