    Default Death From Above !!!

Bald Eagle talons are the size of human hands. And their grip is rumored to be strong enough to break a human arm! I had clipped the wings in the original capture. Rather than tossing the frame, I went with a tight crop, because I think it helps emphasize those impressive talons.

What I like here Doug, is how you have managed to capture the talons against the lighter part of the BG, thus showing them up so well. You could use those in a James Bond movie. Glad you got a slight head turn to see the eye, and although your focus of the image is on the talons, there's some pretty sharp detail from those underwings too.

Doug, liked the crop a lot. Considering the light angle and the whites in the head, the underwing details are very very impressive. Just wishing for a better background.

I think a hint of eye contact really helps the image Stuart.

Doug, this is an impressive shot. I like the tight crop. It really brings out the talons. I remember seeing a similar shot of a White-tailed Eagle (the Bald Eagles' closest relative) a while ago.
    Fantastic exposure and great sharpness.

Love those talons ready to grab. I agree on your choice of cropping rather than repairing.

I like your decision to crop close. It gives it a much more intense emotion. Great detail. Were the whites that dirty?

Yes David they were; it's not the result of controlling the whites in post.
