I created this fract of one of my favorite Midway images using Glow 100 with a few twists and erasing nothing. :) I like it ALOT. I tried every pre-set along with lots of variations but Glow 100 is the bomb. Thanks to the loverly Miss Denise for introducing us to Glow 100.

You can see the original post in Avian here: http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=59597, see lots more Midway images--it was an amazing trip--and read my post on creative vision with Red-tailed Tropicbird (seen here) images at the blog here: www.BIRDSASART-Blog.com

Artie, This is one of my favorite images from Midway (that I have seen so far). What I liked most about the original was that killer eye. Would like to see you reveal just a touch of it in this one. It's all about picking the right image for the right effect and the white with the bold orange really pops off the page. Fantastic!:)

Very nice, Artie. Eye-catching colors, lovely frac work, and I like the tight composition. Agree with Denise that revealing the eye a bit would make this perfect. :)

Lately I've been trying to comment on images, replying, then looking at all the other comments..so I'm not swayed by what others say. I like the frac work (although I might lighten the effect just a bit), the colors are what make the image for me...You must have had a blast out there..my only image of a Tropicbird is from 300 yards away...TFS

The frac work definitely suggests a sea bird, Arthur. Do think the eye's gets lost in there though!

Thanks all for you comments. As suggested by Denise and others. Paul, I "lightened" the effect with the brightness in Fractalius; is that what you had in mind?

Very nice repost...Artie, what I meant was the length and thickness of the frac effects, since I don't have the program, not sure if fract size can be controlled in that way....but after seeing the eye in thie repost..it makes the image rock...TFS

I thought the image would look better with the eye lightened as to show detail. A matter of taste being as subjective as it is....

Thanks. The problem is that they have jet black irises that have already been lightened :) but with the fracting, your interpretation looks fine.
