Today I was hoping to get a picture of this curlew with some breakfast in its beak. Though I captured quite a few such images of this guy, none showed its invertebrate delights clear and sharp enough -- they were simply too small (perhaps another time I'll be luckier). So, I've settled on this image from this morning to post. It seemed to me very little PP was needed; I did almost none. What do you think?
it looks about 2/3rds overexposed, wendell. i think you needed some negative compensation here. i do like the reflection. sharp and i would definitely include it.
Hi Wendell - agree with Harold - looks a little bright on my screen - as mentioned usually you would be dialing in some - compensation to protect the whites.
The exposure on the reflection looks better. (Which is usually about 1 stop difference - if my memory serves me well)
Looking forward to seeing more
I like a number of things about this image: the diagonal string of bubbles that reinforces movement of the forward-stepping pose; the tip of the bill captured almost touching the water; sharpness and reflected uplight. With some negative compensation this would be a winner.
