Great BG, pose, iridescence and colours, Jan. Plane of critical focus seems to be on the perch which has left the bill and eye slightly soft. A little selective sharpening may help. Fixing the double catchlight would be worth a try.

    Totally agree with Tony's assessment.

Beautiful colors, BG, pose, head position, composition, perch. Pity about the focus plane issue. This would have been an absolute stunner. You can try some USM and some contrast. might improve.

Spectacular bird and BKGR. SH looks OK+ to these eyes :) I only wish that the head were not turned away ever-so-slightly; with this facing pose perfectly square would have been ideal.

This is the first time, I have seen one of these birds. A stunning colorful bird. The perch is very complimentary, and i like the pose. Thanks for sharing this one.

Beautiful capture and a lovely pose and head turn. Really like the composition you chose for this image. Everything else has been said. Many thanks for sharing Jan this fine image.

A great bird, perch and bg. I would have stopped down more and bumped up your iso here to get the head as sharp as the perch.
