Another Oldy and Mouldy, luckily I will hopefully have some new ones in around 6 weeks

Taken on the banks of Kafue River, Kafue National Park, Tanzania 22nd September 2004, from the bank on the other side of the river. It was this dull so I have left it au naturel.

Always fin to get images of the little ones. Would like more eye contact with mom. Image looks a little soft on my end, maybe a touch more sharpening or it could just be the flat conditions you mentioned. I think you could lose the empty space on the rhs and bring more attention to the hippos.TFS

I like the pose of the little one Ken. I too would crop some off the right hand side to pull your attention immediately to the little fellow.

The colors on both hippos are great. Well exposed.

I agree with the crop suggestion.

Hi Ken Great seeing the little guy !!! ... was just thinking this might be a good image for using the content aware scaling in CS4 :) ... moving the little guy as if it was looking at the mom .. would fall into the digital creation type IMO but fun to do !!

Cute little guy/girl, and I bet by now hopefully very, very well grown up. Colours look natural, and agree taking a bit off the right will work.

Very cute little one. I also wish the Mom were facing us more, but hey, whose going to go and push her around? Great colors.

Firstly I apologise I got the place where I took the image wrong it was actually taken on the banks of the Ruaha river in Ruaha National Park, at least I got the country correct:o

    Here is a tighter crop.

I have CS4 on order, when I get it I shall look at contact aware scaling.

On a mobile in Moremi and Savute, to see the floods! The ltest I have heard is that the water has reached Savute Marsh for the first time in 30 years!

that should be awesome! I've heard that many parts of the delta now has flowing water where there was none for years.
