    Default Spoony WTP

Taken at the western treatment plant a couple of weeks ago (for the aussies here) quite a flock of spoonies present many in breeding plumage (Very early)
I absolutely love playing with OOF foreground elements (Think Fabs calls this - Colour Wash) sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't - Dark overcast rainy day and the spoonies were quite happy to play hide n seek amongst the reeds.

Cropped and sharpened - did not adjust the levels at all - my intention was to try and capture the feel of these guys hangin out amongst the reeds playing hide n seek.

Dont be afraid to say - it doesn't work for me!!!
    Comments welcome.

Ps - Yes it is the image I used for the frac in OOTB.

    Hi Lance,

Love the way you play around with the oof parts of the image. Gives a completely different feel to the image.

Maybe a bit more image on the left for him to look in to?

    Regards.
    Stu.

Thanks Stuart - I really enjoy these situations when I find them - as I said sometimes they work and other times they dont, but sure is lots of fun, have some more of these guys as well and have a rabbit from the same trip (For another day)

A beauty Lance !!! This worked out just fine.

If you try one of these type do take several and from different angles, after seeing comes up and the big monitor will be easier judging the effect on the camera LCD !!!

Hi Lance, I like the feel of the image with the hint of the other spoonbill. Good detail with a muted backround. The OOF foreground works with room left for virtual feet.

Love this effect Lance, especially the one that is more obscured.

Lovely image. I like the way the head and neck are sharp against the dark bg; and what you did with the foreground is beautiful. Wish I knew what you had in RAW and what you did to it.

Hi Bill - I do ver little to my RAW'S - what you see is what the RAW was - except for some cropping and a td of sharpening to the head area.

Yea, it works for me, very unique and the surrounding habitat is a plus.

Maybe a tad more room, virtual feet and all - sweet image.

This is cool Lance, like the habitat display would just sharpen the bill and head a tad more.
