Took this swan image today. Trying to think more about composition and was using a 80-200 f/2.8 at about 8 feet. CC welcomed and appreciated.

Hi Jeffrey, Very nice job on this! It's sharp, nicely muted backround, good lighting and the water droplets add alot of interest. It's a bit tight on the top and right side for my taste.

    Dave,

Thanks for cc. There was no more on right side as this was shot portrait. I cropped top tight to try and leave more space in front of the bird. See your point and thanks. I never saved crop and will keep in mind for final editing.

    Hope others chime in too.

Water drops are neat. Did you notice how they follow the weed stuck in the birds head. Somewhat unique as light was really right for this shot. Thanks again.

Whites are in check and the exposure techs are solid. Nice head angel, eye and BG. I like the fact you did not over do the Sat dial and kept the scene real. A bit more room would make it stronger IMO - TFS - well done.

Hi Jeff - big improvement - Sharp were it needs to be - nice fine feather details - good HA and eye contact.
Exposure looks good and like the water drops.
Would run some NR on the background - a little fine noise visible and a little tight for my personal tastes - other than that - Good Job :)

Hi Jeff can only add to look carefully at the bg when making the image, got some white areas which going a little lower would have been out of the picture, as is can take them out easily !!!

Like the shadow detail and clearly visible eye the most !!! Big Congrats !!!

Well done, Jeff. Beautiful detail in the blacks, and elsewhere. A bit of NR on the bg would help. I personally like tight crops, but I can see the point that a bit more room might help.

    Thanks all for kind words.

Really feel good about finally getting somewhere. Going to rework and see if I can add a little room on top and side. Also going to try get rid of some backgroud noise and white areas.

    Thanks again!
    Jeff
