Hi Bob, Certainly not an easy subject to capture. Good wing spread even though they are a bit soft it implies motion. I would crop some off the top since to my eye is imbalancing the image. The light appears to be coming from the top and backlighting the tail and some of the wing feathers.Half the face is lit also. I would have preferred more direct lighting on the face and body where the lighting was more evenly distributed...

    Hi Bob
What an opportunity to get the owl coming right at you in daylight. I tried lightening the whole image with curves to be able to see more detail on the face, and tried overall sharpening a bit more. I agree that a pano crop might work well here.

    Neat image. Congrats

    Cheers

Hi Bob - agree 100% with Dave - also seeing the blue fringing around the feathers of the wing on the LHS (Not on the RHS)
    Even lighting would have improved.
    Keep em coming :)

Bob, I love the flying pose. Light seems mixed buy if I saw him coming would take the same shot. Maybe even the light on the face for smother transition.

As mentioned, Pano crop might look cool and work the face with selective sharpening and adj-layer brightness. Nice one to catch him like this, fast on the trigger. TFS and keep them coming friend.

Hi Bob Great comments and fully agree !!

You came up with a beauty under difficult conditions, did not see the exposure comp but like what you did, back/side light was handled properly !! Could tweak the eyes a lighten just a bit !! Like it a lot !!

agree with the others, bob. it looks like you tried to lighten the bird's right eye a little? seems a little hazier there. might add some contrast there to negate it. love the owls!! congrats on the flight shot!!
