    Hey all, been awhile, had a major computer crash that i am still recovering from, pretty much back to normal again.

    D300 + 500mm f4 AFS-I + 1.4x tele + Gitzo 3530 + Jobu BWG-P head.

    Focal Mode - AF-C
    Aperture - f5.6
    Shutter - 1/800
    Exposure Mode - A Priority
    Exposure Comp - +0.3EV
    Spot Meter
    ISO - 250

    Very good detail on the bird itself. (You have to love "nostril shots".) The foreground is distracting for me, however.

    The head in the white background attracts the eye there. The whole scene is an at the beach experience. Well done.

    is this such a bad shot, really?
    I know the foreground is a bit cluttered and you can't see it's feet but the pose and detail i thought were acceptable.
    I took many "cleaner" shots than this where you could see feet, legs etc. but for some reason this shot appealed to me.

    Oh well, can't win em all now can you? :)
