    Default Ferruginous Hawk Fly-by

While looking for Mountain Plover near Whitewater Draw near Elfrida, Arizona, I happened to spot this Hawk. Instead of flying away he came in for a look. No choice on sun direction, so I made the best of it.

He was either molting or had been in a fight..a few feathers missing...

Darkened left side of head, repaired missing wing, see if you can tell where...and tail.

    Frame is hawks leg color

    Thanks for looking

Like the composition and bird's spread wing position. Excellent PP work. I might try to crop it a bit tighter.

I like the wing position and eye contact, the composition works, too. I might toning down the tail and lighten the head some more.

Good wing position, eye contact, and placement in the frame. I agree with Axel about lightening the head and slightly toning down the tail feathers. Looks like you had a good trip. Too bad we couldn't meet up. Maybe next time!
