Great light, cool pose and interesting BG. The different leg position adds interest. I might lighten the shadow of the bill a bit.

    Judy:

Nice light, darker sky works well as do the clouds. Sharp.
Like the one gear up pose, like a plane that retracts one at a time.

Nice composition. First impulse was for more room to the right, but I think it works well as presented.

    Cheers

    Randy

Nice banking angle and eye contact on this one, Judy. Like the foot up, and the fanned tail. I agree that toning down the bill shadow would help. Beautiful BG and late-day light.

Wow. I like the leg and wing positions. I might cut back on the red saturation but that is a matter of taste.
Shame that head shadow is there.

Judy, I have never seen any bird flying with one leg tucked in, so well done on capturing the moment. Stunning light, and I like the warm colours. Sharp, and well exposed.

Love the pose with one leg tucked in! The clouds create some visual interest in the BG. Nice eye contact, sharpness, and light. I would like a little more canvas on the right.

You sure nailed the exposure on this one, Judy! I've seen pictures of Whooping Cranes, gliding next to the ultra light planes, with their legs tucked in, trying to stay warm. Very different pose.

Judy, what a good job with expsoure. I always mess up in this situation...blowing the red channel most of the times. Great light, pose and sharpness. The tucked leg is giving a nice view of the fanned tail. Very unique.

Spectacular, Judy! You really nail them with that 300. Love the foot up and the clouds in the BKGR.
