Pose is great and the sharpness is good and the patterns in the scales are very cool.
Was this a studio image, the midnight style backgrounds make the image look like it taken in a studio with the lights out, or in the middle of the night in the field.
The image looks very bright and very contrasty, even blown in some areas over the shoulder. I would reprocess and use masks to hold detail and deal with the high contrast. In Photoshop use the histogram, F10 or the info window, F8, to check for blown areas, that is areas that lack detail or are pegged at or near the 255 value. Use the calibration strip at the bottom of this page to check your monitor calibration for whites.
Thanks Robert, please help me understand what to do to hold the detail. I can see the areas that the highlights are hot or even blown however I am not sure that I know what to do. What would you do, what would the process be. Any and all help is appreciated.
Thanks.
