Default Perched Eastern Phoebe-what do you think?

I think this is an Eastern Phoebe, please correct me if I am wrong.

I am interested to know what do you think about this image, I have removed part of the perch that was intersecting with tail. Also how much of a crop do you think this is?

    5D MKII + 500f/4 + 1.4X TC f/7.1 1/2500sec ISO 1600.

Looks like a Say's Phoebe. Assuming you made this in California, Eastern Phoebes are further East.

I like the head angle and BG. The perch works for me but the bird looks a bit oversharpened on my monitor.

I like everything I see ... light, shadow, colors, pose, even the sharpness. The only change I would make is to lop off the stem beneath the tail, just for the sake of composition.

here is a repost with half sharpening amount

    What do you think now?

Axel, you're probably right, the wiki page shows Eastern Phoebe in the list of Cali birds but might just be occasional sightings. Cute little bird!

The less sharpened version looks much better on my monitor.

Nice one, love the fine feather detail, colors and composition/perch is unique. Exposure techs look good as well - TFS - well done. Wow, the 5DII can handle the high ISO!
