In certain areas of this nature reserve, you can capture wonderful BG colours, and hopefully I achieved that in this image. Taken early morning last weekend. I wished for a slightly better HA.

    Stuart:

It is indeed an nice background. Makes me think desert, dry. HA mentioned, sharp, well exposed.

I might consider a very small crop from left and top.

    Cheers

As you said, lovely background colours. The headangle looks acceptable to me but I am not a member of the HAP society. The focus and exposure also look OK.

Great job on the BG, Stuart. DOF covers the chat and perch well and all looks nice and sharp. Looks like Rietvlei should be on the itinerary:)

    Hi Stuart,
Great BG layers and colors. HA looks okay to me, matches the perch. Nice detail in the bird too.

Stuart, the BG makes this quite special. The two colors there go well with each other. The light and details on the bird are excellent. Like how the whole perch is sharp. I wish we had such places here where we can drive around and shoot through the windows so much.

Sharpness, eye contact, perch and angle look good. I wish the head were turned a bit toward you and would try to get more details in the blacks on the underside of the tail.

This is really lovely, the BG is splendid and the bird has lots of character.
Perch is very appropriate, and the HA is not perfect but does not ruin the image.
Well done. Agree with Axel about bit more details on the tail.
    Very nice.

Stunning bg! Another beautiful image Stu. Love the soft light and the bird is nice and sharp. I like how the curve of the perch follows the shape of the bird.:)
